Kelly Pool

Kelly Pool is the ultimate in billiards pool games and is played as a rotation game with 2 or more players, a bottle and tally (pea) balls (numbered 1-10). The players may toss a coin, lag or draw a pea for their respective playing positions then after a player shakes the bottle of peas, each player draws one which becomes the numbered ball he must sink (note: player should keep his number a secret and until after he is “killed or dead” or the game is won). The player who sinks his ball first is the winner and collects 50 points from each player. If a player sinks a ball that belongs to another player before the game is over, he receives 25 points from that player. If someone’s ball is sunk he cannot win the game and is known as “killed or dead” whereas a player still in the game is “alive.” A “killed” player can try to prevent “alive” players from winning by sinking their numbered balls and receiving 25 points from each player he “kills”. In the event that all players are “dead” the game is over.

9-Ball Kookie Kelly

Another one of the fun billiards pool games played with tally balls is 9-Ball Kookie Kelly. This game is played by two to four players on any pocket table with 9 numbered balls racked in a diamond shape. Ten tally balls numbered 1 to 8 are placed in a bottle, and two balls are shaken to each player. Each player shows one of the balls to determine the order of shooting – highest number shoots first. Each player has only one shot in each inning, regardless if he pockets a ball, misses or scratches. Balls are not shot in rotation. Any ball hit is a good hit and balls and pockets do not have to be called. If the shooter makes a ball for which another player holds a tally ball, the shooter must pay that player a forfeit (if you’re not so competitive, make the forfeit candy or small change). Any balls pocketed on a scratch shot are re-spotted. The game winner is the person who pockets the ball with the same number as the tally ball he holds and forfeits from each of the other players, including those whose balls have been pocketed.

Though these are just a few billiards pool games available, hopefully they will get you started on some fun nights with your friends and family. Just remember, we want you to have a great time with your table so also let us know when you are in need of anything for your billiard room. In the meantime, have fun with these billiard pool games and good luck!ayers are “dead
