Our Quality
Advantage:
Our Leg construction:
We use a 45° lock mitre joint with interlocking teeth, glued and assembled under pressure. A typical pool table manufacturer will use a butt joint. The butt joint, known by woodworkers to be the least desirable joint, is two 45 degree planes pushed together and stapled. Our construction ensures the leg will endure side to side motion and resist moisture longer, giving you a solid table base for years to come.
Our Cabinet Construction:
We assemble your frame with 1 1/2" solid wood or 1 1/4" plywood with book matched veneer face. No particle board used, Ever! Schmidt tables have 66% more supportive frame material than our competitors. Finally our "Trak-Rout", milling process makes A. E. Schmidt game room table frames the flattest on the market.
Our Slate Advantage: Our billiard tables all come with the best 1" slate from around the world, diamond honed corners, in a 3 piece configuration. Competitors and importers use 5/8" to 7/8" slate and often use the one piece configuration making moving dangerous and cumbersome. Of course some low cost pool tables don't even use slate, instead they substitute painted particle board. Particle board slate frames have becoming more and more prevalent on the discount table market.
Blind Panel or Rail Apron Assembly:
We use 3 interlocking biscuit joints clamped down with Jet Weld® adhesive, melding 2 parts into one solid piece. Our competitors use exposed screws or T-nails that must be filled, leaving visible blemishes. Structurally our method doesn't required doesn't require screw stripping tightening and will provide a blemish free finish.
Solid Rails:
We use 3/8" imported German threaded brass inserts which resist over tightening. Other billiard table manufacturers use lag bolts threaded directly in to the rail and are prone to stripping out.
Innovative Cushion Assembly:
We are the only billiard table manufacturer to guarantee our cushion adhesive will never lose its bond. Our strict production procedure allows us to make and keep that promise. Our slow drying adhesive allows the strictest control of cushion attachment. Contact cement that is used by low cost tables will instantly be locked in place straight or not.
Sight Assembly:
our German Imported Mother of Pearl sites can not be replicated by cheap plastic, like other manufactures try to do. Our sites are sanded and integrated into the rail before the rail is finished. Typically inserts are put in after the rail is finished and are often below the plane of the rail.
Ultra Smooth Finish:
We use a blend of old world craftsmanship and state of the art technology to provide the smoothest, durable finish to your billiard, pool, or snooker table. To reduce costs, billiard table manufacturers often paint on finishes with faux wood grain. Nice to look at in the show room but these finishes are quickly scratched and are impossible to touch up correctly. Another tip is to the feel smoothness of the sides and lower portions of the table. Discount pool tables will often have smooth rails and rough legs and cabinet.
