At AE Schmidt Billiards, we feel privileged to say that we are one of the forerunners in the pool and billiards industry, having been a faithful community provider of billiard and pool tables as well as many other accessories for over 150 years – and we don’t plan to slow down anytime soon. The reason is simple: We Love What We Do. And when you love what you do, your dedication remains strong. That’s why we make a strong effort to provide our customers with the highest-quality, custom-built pool tables out there. So now the question for you is, do you want to join in on the fun?

To help you decide, let us explain further about the game. Both pool and billiards are considered “cue sports” because they are played with a long stick called a cue stick. The cue stick is used to aim at one or more white balls known as cue balls. And this cue ball, once hit, is to target other numbered balls on the table. Depending on the game you play, the order in which you target those balls may differ, as well as the number of balls you will play with in general.

The one common mistake we see when discussing pool and billiards is that many people use the words interchangeably. While they are similar (especially the look of the tables), they are actually very different. A billiard table has no pockets and typically uses two cue balls and one object ball. The pool table, on the other hand, is the better known of the two cue games. A pool table has pockets and the games 8-ball and 9-ball are most famously played on it, though there are other games to play as well. The objective of both 8-ball and 9-ball are to target numbered balls with the cue ball and with one strike, make them fall into a pocket.

Now that you’ve learned a little more about the world of pool and billiards, are you interested? We hope so, because we have a wonderful selection of premium pool tables for you to choose from, which are available in a variety of woods species, stains, and cloth colors. We want to find out how we can serve you, so give us that chance. Hope to see you soon!
